About Polite Society

Having played in a number of bands with each other over the years, the current line up of Polite Society came together in 2003 under the name of The Other Band. Fronted by twin sisters Ruth and Lizzie, their music is an intricate blend of acoustic-folk and indie, combining sweet harmonies with resonating lyrics. With their roots in traditional singer-songwriting the songs tell tales of life, love, loss and loneliness.

Since their first live show in 2004, Polite Society have played at many venues including the Water Rats, London and the Cambridge Folk Festival.
